#TheBlackReset is a 501c4 non-profit group dedicated to the education and engagement of African-Americans civic responsibility and participation in democracy through the social, economic, and political empowerment of the democratic process. For centuries the power of Black America and our participation in this democracy of our nation has repeatedly been challenged and even blocked by racist and retaliatory policies designed to keep our voices from being heard.  From the Black Codes to Jim Crow, to the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, Black America has been denied their full rights to the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, which embodies our right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

Today, with thirty-two states passing Voter I.D. laws restricting Black America's ability to vote, historic racist laws are ever-present in the twenty-first Century. #TheBlackReset will support Black communities' efforts to galvanize and address public policy issues that disproportionately impact Black America. Our focus is to organize and become more aware of the local, state, and national policies that will affect our ability to participate in the electoral and democratic process to ensure and increase our civic participation by electing members of society who foster the principles values of our community.

#TheBlackReset will provide access to voter registration to allow you to register to vote regardless of your party affiliation or what state you reside in. We want every African-American registered to vote in all 50 States and territories and lead them to the polls in an unprecedented fashion in every election. This will result in a collective and commemorating effort to address the social, economic, and political impact on African-Americans. We will not allow anyone to silence our voices or deny us our rights. Our message is clear.... It's Time for #TheBlackReset!

Our Issue

spacer

Systemic racism, police brutality, voter suppression, economic insecurity, food deserts, high unemployment rates, high infant mortality rates, affordable housing, affordable access to health care, high coronavirus fatalities, and the list goes on. Since 1619, Black America has been labeled as property and treated like 'second class citizens.' In fact, in the 21st Century, the U.S. Constitution still identifies African- Americans as 3/5ths of a person. We are no longer property.

Some groups believe they have the right to take away your voice and enforce a poll tax upon you. We believe that it is your right to vote! And we say, exercise your rights and support #TheBlackReset. So, equip and empower yourself and your family to embrace the movement and join with us as we establish a national "Black" awareness campaign, to make sure we vote, and we reset public policies for Black America.

Our Goal

spacer

Is to identify the policies and structural barriers that impede African- Americans from fully engaging themselves in the process. These efforts will include reviewing public policies and participating in events to bring awareness to the injustices, as well as, sharing the opportunities that will benefit us.

The Census which will determine the redistricting and reapportionment of every state will have a lasting effect on the Black community for the next century. The consequences of our lack of participation will be critical to our social, economic, and political future and security.
